Campbell Construction Receives Inaugural ‘Community Builder’ Award for B.C.
As stated in our recent news release, Victoria-based signatory contractor Campbell Construction has been selected as the recipient of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters’ (UBC) ‘Community Builder’ award for B.C. Considering that the construction industry is the largest contributor to the underground economy in Canada, the UBC has begun publicly celebrating model contractors who play by the rules in their dedication to fair practices, worker rights, and industry excellence.
Pictured here is Carpenters’ Regional Council Regional Manager Hamish Stewart (B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, & Yukon) presenting a ‘Community Builder’ award to Campbell Construction President Wayne Farey at Campbell Construction’s residential high-rise project ‘One Bear Mountain’ in Victoria’s West Shore on April 24, 2023. Congratulations to Campbell Construction!
The recognition program launched in Canada is part of a broader annual industry campaign titled ‘Construction Industry Tax Fraud Days of Action,’ where carpenters and millwrights throughout Canada and the United States are combatting tax fraud in the construction industry and calling on municipal, provincial, state, and federal governments to partner with them and take steps to tackle this growing issue. #TFDOA2023, #StopTaxFraud
